Είναι ένα φαγώσιμο, αρωματικό φυτό με ισχυρό άρωμα και γεύση, το οποίο είναι συγχρόνως εξαιρετικό υγιεινό καθώς περιέχει στα συστατικά του ένα ευρύ φάσμα από βιταμίνες, μέταλλα, φυτοθρεπτικά συστατικά και αντιοξειδωτικά.
